Installation

Installing the Add-On

The add-on is available at the Atlassian Marketplace ("Issue Rating"). To install the add-on, log in as a system administrator and navigate to the "Find New Add-ons" tab of the Universal Plugin Manager (UPM) in the global administration. There you simply search for "Issue Rating". You can find the UPM via the menu entry "Plugins". For more details about the UPM please refer to the documentation provided by Atlassian.

If the installation is successful, a new custom field type is available in the custom field configuration.

Licensing

The add-on needs a valid license, otherwise features might not work. Valid licenses are either full licenses, renewal licenses, or 30-day trials and are available at the (warning) Atlassian Marketplace. The license model is the same that Atlassian uses for its products  for further information see the Atlassian documentation.

To obtain a license and apply it for the add-on, please carry out the following instructions, (also see the screenshot above):

  • Go to the license settings page (JIRA Administration -> "Manage Plugins" or similar tab -> Extend the add-on "Issue Rating")
  • Use the links to create a new license at the Atlassian Marketplace (use "Free Trial" to get a new trial license or "Buy Now" to purchase a full license), or copy a license you may have received from Communardo.
  • Enter the license key in the license screen.

If no valid license is provided Issue Rating will still work but not all features will be available. If you want to be able to rate fields, you need a valid license.

Configuration for Custom Fieldtype Issue Rating

1. Configure new custom field

To be able to use the features, you first have to configure a new custom field. See the documentation of Atlassian on how to do that.

Create a new custom field with an "Issue Rating Field":

Define a name and a description:

(info) No additional custom field configuration is needed.

2. Set the new custom field to your relevant isse type

See the Atlassian Documentation: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Associating+Field+Behavior+with+Issue+Types

3. Define your screen configuration

See the Atlassian Documentation: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Associating+Field+Behavior+with+Issue+Types

(tick) Now you should see the new field in your issue

Administering the Add-On

You don't need to configure the add-on. The configuration is implemented in the custom fieldtype.
